Cellist/Conductor Karen Pinoci, DMA, serves as Music Director of the New Sussex Symphony (NSS), the Essex County Summer Players Orchestra (ECSPO) and the string orchestra at NJIT in Newark. As Co-founder of the New Philharmonic of NJ, she served as its Associate Conductor and Director of Educational Programming for many years.

Karen freelances as a cellist in New Jersey and performs mainly with the Moonlight Duo which she formed in 2005 with pianist Claudia Baumgaertner Lemmerz.

She gives private cello instruction in her studio, in Mendham and at Newark Academy. She was a member of the conducting class at Tanglewood, the Conductors Institute in SC and CT, the Pierre Monteaux School in ME.

Karen earned her Doctorate in Conducting from the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago.
